Saint Joseph Arts is currently working with the Tensas Parish School Board giving after-school music lessons to help create
a safe environment and cultural enrichment for the children of the public schools where there has been no music education in the schools
in over 30 years.

About our Music Studio The studio is located at 118 Arts Drive in Tensas Parish (off U.S. Hwy. 65).     The studio opened the doors to a flood of students in May, 1998.  Presently, there are in excess of 40 students , youth and adult, being taught by highly qualified music teachers....with new students being added regularly. Many of  the students are brought into the Saint Joseph Orchestra to perform a few selections during our annual Christmas Concerts. The vision of the studio is to provide instruction in all the orchestral instruments to regional residents, who otherwise would have no access to lessons.  Our goal is to service the needs of the students, both young and old, regardless of their ability to pay, through scholarships made possible by grants, patron funds and donations. Those students who can afford instruments provide their own, while the orchestra has numerous "loaners" for others.  We also offer scholarship funds and are  always seeking "adoptive" sponsors for both providing instruments and paying for the lessons of our students that need help with funds.
